Teaching landscape photography in one of the world's most extraordinary geological settings since 2014.
Ramon Photo started as a small sunrise meetup group among local photographers in Mitzpe Ramon. What began with a handful of enthusiasts on the crater rim has grown into a dedicated workshop studio serving photographers from across Israel and abroad.
We believe the desert is the ultimate teacher. Its vast scale demands careful composition. Its harsh light forces technical mastery. Its silence creates space for creative vision. Every workshop is designed to push you beyond your comfort zone while building skills you can apply anywhere.
Our studio at 1 Ben Gurion Blvd serves as both classroom and gallery — a place to review work, edit together, and connect with fellow photographers over strong coffee and desert views.
Small groups, hands-on instruction, and real-world shooting in the field — not classroom theory.
At least 70% of every workshop is spent shooting on location. You learn by doing — adjusting settings, framing compositions, and reacting to changing light in real time.
We cap sessions at eight participants. This ensures every photographer receives personal feedback on technique, composition, and post-processing throughout the workshop.
Editing clinics follow field sessions. We work through your raw files together — demonstrating workflows, answering questions, and refining your personal style.
We welcome all camera systems — DSLR, mirrorless, and medium format. A sturdy tripod is essential for sunrise and night sessions. Wide-angle lenses (16–35mm equivalent) are ideal for landscape work, though we encourage experimenting with telephoto compression on the crater walls.
Neutral density filters, a remote shutter release, and spare batteries are recommended. We provide editing workstations with calibrated monitors during clinic sessions — just bring your memory cards and laptop.
